Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has expressed concern over what she described as the low level of public attention surrounding the reported abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The singer disclosed that she only recently became aware of the incident after coming across posts shared online by fellow singer Spyro and media personality KieKie.
Speaking in a video circulating online, Tiwa Savage said she was shocked that such a serious incident was not receiving widespread discussion across social media platforms.
“I just started seeing the kidnapping that happened in Oyo just yesterday. It was Spyro’s post that came up,” she said.
The mother of one explained that she had to begin making inquiries to better understand the situation because she was surprised the reports were not appearing prominently on her timeline.
According to her, the situation became even more disturbing after she reportedly discovered that the attack had occurred nearly two weeks earlier.

“It’s not trending enough. It’s not trending as much as it should. Then I saw KieKie’s post saying the incident has taken place for almost two weeks,” she added.
Her reaction follows reports of bandits attacking a school in the Oriire area of Oyo State, where students, teachers, and a school principal were allegedly abducted.
Reports also claimed that one of the teachers was killed, while several pupils remain in captivity.
The incident has continued to spark concern among Nigerians, with many citizens and public figures calling on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts toward rescuing the victims and improving security in affected communities.
