Operatives of the Buffalo Patrol Team of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed men and recovered two pump-action guns with seven live cartridges during a stop-and-search operation in Asaba.
The suspects were arrested on May 6, 2026, at about 7:06pm at the Head Bridge in Asaba, the boundary between Delta State and Anambra State.
Police identified the suspects as Chukwu Emeka Okeke, 30; Ndudo Tochukwu, 37; and Oraka Kaosiso Chukwu, 34.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the operatives intercepted a black Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep with registration number ABJ 254 CD for routine checks.
He said the officers, acting on reasonable suspicion, conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and recovered two pump-action guns loaded with seven rounds of live cartridges.

“The suspects were immediately arrested and taken into custody,” the statement said.
Edafe added that the suspects and the recovered exhibits remained in police custody while investigation continues.
The Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to proactive policing and intelligence-driven operations aimed at tackling illegal arms movement and other criminal activities across the state.
