Governor Umo Eno has formally submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms to contest in the forthcoming governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress as part of efforts to secure a second term in office.

Speaking with journalists at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo after returning from Abuja, where he completed the submission process, the governor said his decision to seek re-election was informed by the need to sustain and complete key developmental projects initiated by his administration.

Eno stated that his government had recorded significant progress through the implementation of the ARISE Agenda, adding that many ongoing projects would require more time beyond the current tenure for full completion.

According to him, continuity in leadership would help ensure that the projects are executed in line with the administration’s vision and development plans.

“We will continue to trust God and remain dedicated to serving the people. There is still a lot of work to be done across the state, and several projects currently underway cannot be completed within this first term,” the governor said.

“That is why we are seeking another mandate to fully implement these initiatives and build on the progress already achieved for the overall benefit of Akwa Ibom people,” he added.

The governor also appreciated residents of Akwa Ibom State for their support and cooperation over the past three years, expressing confidence that the goodwill enjoyed by his administration would continue through the remainder of his first tenure and into a possible second term.
