The Akwa Ibom State Government has taken another step toward improving workers’ welfare by allocating new homes to public servants, easing long-standing accommodation challenges.
At a brief ceremony on Tuesday, keys to 25 newly built two-bedroom bungalows were officially handed over to beneficiaries.
The presentation was carried out by the Head of Civil Service, Elsie Peters, on behalf of Governor Umo Eno.
This latest initiative adds to the 150 two-bedroom expandable flats previously provided for junior public servants on Grade Levels 01–08, reinforcing the government’s commitment to staff welfare.
Speaking during the event, Peters praised the governor’s continued efforts to support the workforce and encouraged beneficiaries to show appreciation through dedication and loyalty to their duties.

He assured the government of his continued commitment to effective service delivery.
Peters noted that the housing project, located at Ikpedip in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, aligns with the administration’s ARISE Agenda, aimed at improving living conditions for state workers.
She also urged the beneficiaries to maintain the facilities and make responsible use of their new homes.
