Winners have emerged across Delta State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) concluded its House of Representatives primaries, with successful aspirants emerging from largely peaceful and orderly contests held across federal constituencies.

Key Highlights:

  • Several candidates emerged winners in the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primaries across Delta State.
  • Winners included Ramson Onoyake, Nnamdi Ezechi, Ndudi Elumelu, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Ejiro Waive, and Julius Pondi.
  • The primaries were described as peaceful, orderly, and transparent across multiple federal constituencies.
  • Sheriff Oborevwori praised party members for their discipline and said the exercise showed the APC’s growing strength ahead of the 2027 elections.
  • Monday Onyeme and committee chairman Eugene Odo also commended the use of direct primaries and the peaceful conduct of the process.

In the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, Rep. Ramson Onoyake secured the party’s ticket after the conclusion of voting and collation, while Rep. Nnamdi Ezechi emerged winner in the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency primary.

Rep. Ndudi Elumelu was declared winner of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency contest, describing his victory as one for the people and pledging to deliver effective and impactful representation if elected.

In the Ethiope Federal Constituency, Rep. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu clinched the ticket following a smooth exercise across the wards, just as Rep. Ejiro Waive emerged victorious in Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency.

Also, in the Isoko North and South Federal Constituency, the incumbent lawmaker, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko defeated his challenger to retain the party’s ticket, while Mr. Emmanuel Osazuwa secured victory in Ika Federal Constituency.

Rep. Julius Pondi also emerged winner in Burutu Federal Constituency, rounding off a series of contests that party stakeholders widely described as credible and transparent.

Across constituencies including Bomadi/Patani and Warri, party members turned out in large numbers, with reports indicating early commencement of voting, orderly accreditation and peaceful collation of results.

Reacting to the outcome and conduct of the exercise, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, commended party members for their discipline and unity throughout the primaries.

Speaking after casting his vote in his ward in Okpe Local Government Area, the governor described the process as peaceful and well-coordinated, noting that it reflected the growing strength of the APC in the state.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the orderly conduct observed across polling units, adding that the exercise demonstrated the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections.

Similarly, the Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, applauded the adoption of the Option A4 voting system during the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency primary, describing it as transparent and credible.

Onyeme, who voted in his ward, maintained that the open ballot system enhances accountability and minimizes irregularities, while also commending the peaceful atmosphere recorded across the state.

Chairman of the National Assembly Primaries Committee for Delta State, Eugene Odo, also praised the conduct of party members, noting that the primaries were largely peaceful and devoid of violence.

According to him, the adoption of direct primaries enabled wider participation and strengthened internal democracy within the party.

Overall, the APC primaries in Delta State produced winners across all federal constituencies in an exercise widely regarded as orderly, transparent and reflective of a party consolidating ahead of the 2027 general elections.
