The All Progressives Congress in Delta State has issued a strong disclaimer over a purported list of adopted consensus candidates for the State House of Assembly elections circulating on social media.
In an official statement, the party described the list as fake, unauthorized, and misleading, stressing that it did not originate from any recognised structure of the party.
Key Highlights
- Delta APC declares viral consensus candidate list as fake
- Party denies approving or adopting any House of Assembly candidates
- Nomination and expression of interest forms still ongoing
- APC reaffirms commitment to transparent and credible primaries
- Members urged to rely only on official party communication
The party stated unequivocally that no list of candidates has been discussed, adopted, or ratified by its leadership in Delta State, despite its preference for the consensus mode of primaries as provided in its constitution.
According to the statement, the circulation of the list is a deliberate attempt to mislead party members, aspirants, and the general public, while creating confusion within the party’s nomination process.
The APC emphasised that the process for the sale and submission of nomination and expression of interest forms is still ongoing, making any claim of candidate adoption premature and false.

The party also cautioned individuals responsible for the misinformation to desist from actions capable of destabilising its structure, reaffirming its resolve to conduct a credible and inclusive primary election.
Stakeholders, aspirants, and party faithful were advised to disregard the publication and rely strictly on verified information from official party channels.
The statement was signed by the Delta State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Ebata Valentine Onojeghuo, on May 4, 2026.
