The family controversy surrounding late Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has taken another turn after his younger half-brother shared details of alleged disagreements that existed within their father’s family long before the singer rose to fame.

The younger brother, who shares the same father with the singer but has a different mother, has appealed to the public to stop blaming the singer’s wife for the family’s problems, insisting that she is not responsible for the longstanding disagreements.
In a voice note shared by VictorKinginitiatives, he alleged that tensions within the family predated Toluwanisings’ fame, adding that the singer’s relationship with some relatives had already been strained before his music career gained attention.
He also dismissed suggestions that the singer had completely abandoned their father, explaining that although Toluwanisings was rarely physically present, he continued to provide financial support for him.
According to him, their father once contacted the singer to complain about his absence from home, but Toluwanisings reportedly explained that his work schedule kept him occupied.
Ileya Dispute
The younger brother further recalled an incident involving their paternal grandmother, who allegedly requested money from the singer to buy meat for the family’s Ileya celebration.
He claimed that Toluwanisings declined the request, explaining that he could not contribute to the Muslim festival because he was no longer a Muslim.
The younger brother said the response reportedly caused further disagreement within the family, as some relatives were unhappy with the singer’s religious position.

He, however, maintained that the incident should not be interpreted as evidence that Toluwanisings had stopped taking care of their father.
He explained that the singer continued to do things for their father and acknowledged his siblings, although they did not share a close personal relationship.
Speaking about his relationship with the singer, he admitted that they lacked physical closeness despite acknowledging that Toluwanisings had not completely cut them off.
His intervention comes amid the ongoing family dispute involving the singer, with different accounts emerging over his relationship with his father’s relatives and the role of his wife in the disagreement.
