Nigerians have been urged to support the policy decisions of President Bola Tinubu, which are geared towards the realistic economic, social and political development of the country.

This was contained in a statement issued by a support group, Tinubu Shettima Team & Advocates (TSTA), jointly signed by its National Coordinator, High Chief Nathaniel Dosunmu, and National Secretary, Prince Olusola Ajongbola, declaring that the policies, though tough, are necessary for the country’s rebirth.

Key Highlights

  • TSTA urges Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s policies, describing them as tough but necessary.
  • The group says increased FAAC allocations to states and local governments show the reforms are yielding results.
  • It cites the opening up of solid minerals, aerospace and the blue economy to investors.
  • TSTA describes Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari’s appointment as APC Presidential Campaign Council DG as a political masterstroke.
  • The group vows to intensify campaigns for the re-election of Tinubu and Shettima.

The TSTA noted that when Tinubu came into office in 2023, nothing was working, as the wheels of governance were at their lowest ebb, while the people were disillusioned because of the numerous developmental challenges that pervaded the country.

It listed some of the challenges as disabling unemployment, systemic impunity, a corrosive economy, the free fall of the naira and unrealistic exchange rates.

The group said Tinubu had two options: either to toe the line of previous administrations or take tough decisions that in the long run would reposition the country.

Reforms Beginning To Yield Results, Group Says

“For opting for the narrow path which, though has been painful to the people, these decisions are beginning to yield positive results.

“The policies have impacted positively on the states and local governments, whose quarterly revenues from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) have increased significantly.

“Also, some critical sectors, particularly solid minerals, aerospace and blue economy, have been opened up for local and foreign investors,” the body asserted.

While soliciting the understanding of Nigerians, the group reiterated that “Tinubu is a leader who has shown the necessary capacity, courage and commitment in his quest to not only rescue the country from the woods, but make Nigeria assume her rightful status among nations of the world, which he is doing with unrestrained passion.”

Yari’s Appointment A Political Masterstroke

On the recently constituted All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, the TSTA emphasised that the choice of Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari as Director-General is a political masterstroke which confirms that Tinubu and other key stakeholders of the APC are abreast of political undercurrents in the country, particularly in the North.

The group described Yari as an extremely popular, acceptable and likeable politician in the North, adding that his emergence as head of the presidential campaign council did not come as a surprise.

“We are also confident that Yari will leverage these enduring qualities, which extend to other parts of the country, in ensuring the re-election of President Tinubu.

“With his vast network of friends and associates across the country, Yari is poised to deliver massive votes for Tinubu and the APC,” the group added.

The TSTA promised to continue with extensive and intensive campaigns for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

“To better and improve upon what we did in 2023, TSTA has evolved and emplaced new, results-yielding strategies geared towards the people, knowing that Tinubu is the only route to the meaningful transformation of our dear country,” it said.
