Zamfara APC stages solidarity walk in Gusau
The walk took place on September 2, with participants moving from the Trade Fair Complex to the Zamfara State Government House. It was organised by the A.A. Yari Political Organisation in collaboration with the Shehu Movement Organisation and the Yari 774 Initiative for Asiwaju 2027, Vanguard reported.
The organisers said the march was held to show support for Tinubu and Yari’s appointment. The Zamfara APC chairman, Kabiru Moyi, told participants that the party would work to secure votes for Tinubu in the state. Deputy Governor Mani Mummuni also expressed support for Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal ahead of the 2027 elections.
Reports described the turnout as numbering in the thousands, but The Trumpet could not independently verify the figure.
Yari leads APC campaign council consultations
President Tinubu constituted the APC Presidential Campaign Council in August and appointed Yari, a former Zamfara governor and senator representing Zamfara West, as its Director-General. The council is tasked with coordinating the party’s preparations for the 2027 general election.
Yari has said consultations with party leaders, stakeholders and support groups would be part of the mobilisation effort. The council has also begun engagements with political and religious leaders in different parts of the country.

Ahmad Yari appointed to City Boy Movement board
Separately, reports said Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari, the senator’s son, had been appointed to the executive board of the City Boy Movement, a political network associated with youth and grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s 2027 campaign.
The movement has been expanding its activities through state and local structures. Supporters say the addition of new board members, including Ahmad Yari, will strengthen its organisation and outreach ahead of the election.
The Gusau walk and the movement’s expansion form part of broader early mobilisation by APC groups ahead of 2027. These are campaign activities and expressions of support; they do not establish how voters will ultimately vote.
