The stage is set for an exciting climax to the 2026 President Federation Cup as debutants Heartland Queens and Ikorodu City aim to upset Nigeria’s traditional football powerhouses in Saturday’s finals at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
The women’s final will kick off at 12 noon, with Heartland Queens taking on two-time champions Nasarawa Amazons, while the men’s final between three-time winners El-Kanemi Warriors and first-time finalists Ikorodu City is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Heartland Queens have emerged as one of the competition’s biggest surprises after an impressive run to the final.
The Owerri-based side booked their place by defeating FC Robo Queens in the semi-finals after earlier victories over Dragon Fury Ladies, Ahudiyannem Queens and Ibom Angels.
FC Robo Queens had entered the semi-finals on the back of a quarter-final triumph over multiple champions Rivers Angels but were unable to break down the resilient Heartland side.
Standing between Heartland Queens and a fairytale title are the experienced Nasarawa Amazons, who have consistently remained among Nigeria’s elite women’s clubs.
