Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, has appealed to community leaders, business owners, non-governmental organizations (both national and international), and wealthy individuals to unite in aiding those affected by the recent catastrophic floods in the state.
The floods, as observed by The Trumpet, wreaked havoc across streets, homes, offices, and businesses, causing immense property damage and displacing countless residents.
Making the appeal yesterday during a state broadcast, he emphasized that overcoming this disaster requires more than just government intervention.
“This disaster has starkly highlighted the vulnerabilities within our environment. It necessitates a collective effort from all sectors of society.” He stated.
Stressing the importance of empathy and collaboration, he urged all stakeholders to work together with federal agencies, civil society organizations, and the Nigerian military to ensure effective relief and recovery operations.
The governor encouraged innovative thinking and commitment from all quarters to rebuild infrastructure and homes, suggesting that the disaster could be an opportunity to invest in sustainable and resilient infrastructure.

He also appealed to the media to help raise awareness about how individuals and organizations can contribute to the recovery efforts.
