In a series of highly coordinated operations, the Nigerian Army has dealt a major blow to terrorist networks, rescuing kidnapped students and seizing a large cache of weapons. The daring raids, carried out in Kaduna and Niger States, have resulted in the neutralization of several insurgents and the capture of notorious terrorist logistics suppliers.
On September 12, 2024, the Nigerian Army, acting on critical intelligence, launched a high-stakes operation in Chigbolu village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During a fierce gunfight, troops overwhelmed the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their captives.
A search of the area led to the rescue of 13 kidnapped individuals; 6 males and 7 females. The Army also recovered a significant amount of weapons, including one AK-47 rifle, 87 rounds of ammunition, 4 magazines, a locally-made rifle, and ₦192,220.00 in cash.
Additionally, 5 solar panels, mobile phones, clothing items, and food supplies were seized from the terrorists’ hideout. The rescued victims are currently receiving medical care at 1 Division Medical Services and Hospital.

In another significant breakthrough, Nigerian troops in Kachia Local Government Area arrested two infamous terrorist logistics suppliers, Mallam Usman Waikili and Salisu Idris, in Kagarko village. The suspects were caught with ₦1.3 million in cash, SIM cards, mobile phones, ATM cards, and Moniepoint POS machines, crucial for financing terror operations.
Meanwhile, in Suleja, Niger State, Nigerian troops launched a devastating raid on a terrorist hideout, resulting in a deadly shootout. With their superior firepower, the Army neutralized three terrorists and captured three key suspects: Mallam Halalu, Mallam Suleiman, and Mr. Musa. The captured insurgents led the troops to a hidden armory where 3 AK-47 rifles, 121 rounds of ammunition, and ₦4 million were discovered.
