Nigerian singer Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan, has confirmed that he and his longtime partner, Davita Lamai, will soon walk down the aisle, putting months of secret marriage rumours to rest.
The announcement was made during a trip to the wedding of businessman and music executive Soso Soberekon, where Zlatan, Davita, and several friends and colleagues were travelling together.
In a video from the trip that has since gone viral on social media, singer Teni excitedly broke the news, telling those on board that the couple would soon be getting married.
“So Zlatan and his wonderful wife are going to be having their wedding,” Teni said.
Davita also addressed the group, extending an invitation to those present.
“I just want to extend an invite to everyone. I’d love to have you all there. It will be so nice to have everyone there,” she said.
Although the couple did not disclose the date or venue of the ceremony, the announcement was greeted with cheers and congratulatory messages from friends.
The development comes months after widespread speculation that Zlatan and Davita had secretly tied the knot. At the time, the singer dismissed the reports, clarifying that Davita was the mother of his child and denying claims that they were already married.
