President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, during a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Badejo-Okusanya led a delegation of prominent women in the legal profession, including the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Caleb University, Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson; President of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Nigeria), Mrs. Ezinwa Okoroafor; FCT Lead of the NBA Women Forum, Princess Hadiza Afegbua; and BBold Campaign Team Publicity Lead, Mrs. Ramlat Ridhwan.
The visit comes ahead of Badejo-Okusanya’s formal inauguration as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association during the association’s Annual General Conference scheduled to hold in Enugu next month.

She emerged victorious in the NBA national election after polling 9,891 votes, making history as only the second woman to lead the association since Chief Priscilla Kuye, who served as NBA president between 1991 and 1992.
Upon assuming office, Badejo-Okusanya will succeed the outgoing NBA President, Afam Osigwe, SAN, and begin a two-year tenure at the helm of Nigeria’s foremost legal body.
