The Taraba State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has launched a statewide sensitization campaign across the 16 local government councils of the state in preparation for its forthcoming artificial insemination programme aimed at boosting livestock production.
The awareness campaign, led by the project implementation unit of the state coordination office in Jalingo, seeks to educate farmers, pastoralists, and other stakeholders on the benefits of artificial insemination as an innovative breeding technique for improving livestock productivity.

According to project officials, the campaign is intended to mobilize livestock owners for active participation and ensure the smooth implementation of the initiative across the state.
The sensitization exercise is being coordinated by the Animal Husbandry Officer of the Taraba L-PRES Project under the supervision of the state Project Coordinator, Mr. Hananiah Albert.

As part of the exercise, the project team has been visiting various communities and project sites across Taraba State, where they engage directly with herders and farmers while responding to questions and concerns about the programme.
Officials noted during the outreach visits that the artificial insemination initiative is expected to improve livestock breed quality, increase meat and milk production, and create better economic opportunities for pastoralists and farmers.
They also reaffirmed the commitment of the Taraba L-PRES Project to advancing modern and sustainable livestock production practices aimed at enhancing productivity and improving livelihoods across the state
