Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Adamawa State, a major political shift has occurred following the withdrawal of a gubernatorial aspirant, Diaulhaq Abubakar, from the race in support of fellow contender, Tijjani Galadima.
Diaulhaq announced his decision during a meeting with supporters and political associates, where he declared his endorsement of Galadima as the most suitable candidate to lead the state.

Explaining the reason behind his withdrawal, Diaulhaq said the interest of Adamawa State must take precedence over personal ambition, stressing the need for unity within the party to ensure victory at the polls.
He described Galadima as a competent and trustworthy leader with the experience and vision required to reposition the state and accelerate development.
Diaulhaq further pledged to mobilise no fewer than 226,000 votes for Galadima during the APC governorship primary, assuring the former PTDF boss of widespread grassroots support across the state.

The youthful politician also commended Galadima’s track record in public service, particularly during his tenure at the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF), noting that he managed public resources transparently and without corruption allegations.
He dismissed reports questioning Galadima’s political strength, insisting that the aspirant had built a formidable support base through consultations and engagement with stakeholders across Adamawa state.
According to Diaulhaq, his endorsement is based on his conviction and confidence in Galadima’s ability to drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and strengthen social services for the people of Adamawa State.
