Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly arrested a suspected bandit identified as Sule Yellow, a social media personality who gained notoriety on TikTok for frequently displaying large sums of cash in his videos.
According to security sources, Sule Yellow was apprehended while allegedly returning to a forest hideout after collecting ransom payments from the relatives of a kidnapped victim. The operation was reportedly carried out following intelligence that led troops to monitor the suspect’s movements.
Sule Yellow had built a considerable following on TikTok, where he regularly posted videos showing bundles of cash and a lavish lifestyle. Security operatives are said to be investigating whether the money displayed in those videos was linked to criminal activities, including kidnapping and ransom collection.
His arrest has generated widespread reactions on social media, with many users expressing shock over the allegations and the possibility that the suspect may have used social media platforms to flaunt proceeds of crime.

A video purportedly showing the moment of his arrest has since surfaced online and is being widely circulated across various social media platforms. However, the authenticity of the footage has not been independently verified.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigerian Army nor other security agencies had issued an official statement confirming the arrest or providing further details about the operation.
The development comes amid ongoing military offensives against banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes in several parts of northern Nigeria. Security forces have intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating from forest enclaves and rural communities across the region.
