Governor Abba Yusuf has approved a N20,000 Eid-el-Kabir goodwill package for civil servants in Kano State and the 44 local government areas to cushion the effects of economic hardship ahead of the Sallah celebration.

According to the statement, the intervention came shortly after the payment of May 2026 salaries and is aimed at supporting workers to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival with their families.

It explained that the gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of civil servants in the state.
The government noted that the decision was informed by the prevailing economic realities and the financial pressures associated with festive periods.
“The governor considered it necessary to provide additional relief to enable workers celebrate Eid with joy, comfort and renewed hope,” the statement said.
It added that the initiative underscored the administration’s inclusive governance policy and determination to ensure that workers benefit from people-oriented programmes of government.
Gov. Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare, boosting productivity and maintaining a motivated public service in the state.
He also extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to civil servants and residents of Kano, praying for peace, unity and prosperity in the state and the country.
