The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kano North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Barau was affirmed on Monday, at the party’s secretariat in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State through a voice vote by delegates and party members.

His emergence followed the withdrawal of other aspirants after consultations with key stakeholders, including Governor Abba Yusuf, party leaders and elders, in what officials described as a consensus arrangement to promote unity within the party.
