The police has reported a series of arrests, rescue operations and recoveries of weapons and other exhibits across 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory between September 25 and 29, 2026.

The operations, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, involved responses to armed robbery, abduction, murder, cult-related violence, bandit attacks, cable vandalism and other criminal activities.
In Delta State, police officers responding to an armed robbery and cable vandalism incident at a hotel in Asaba, arrested one suspected armed robber who was shot in the leg during the operation.
A machete, plier, iron rod and armoured cable were recovered, while coordinated anti-crime patrols resulted in the impoundment of 19 vehicles, two tricycles and a motorcycle for various offences.
Six suspects were also arrested and handed over for further investigation.
In Lagos, police arrested five suspected armed robbers following a distress call along Ejigbo-Idimu Road, recovering two cutlasses and a television set suspected to have been stolen.
Another suspected armed robbery suspect was arrested at a hideout in Mushin, with ₦2.5 million and three mobile phones recovered from him. Two additional suspects were arrested in connection with a reported murder case in Ajah.
In Kogi State, joint security forces rescued an abducted male victim following sustained bush-combing operations. The abductors reportedly fled into the forest after security operatives deployed teargas, with clearance operations continuing to track the fleeing suspects.
Police in Anambra State also arrested 13 suspects during a raid on suspected criminal hideouts in Okpoko following credible intelligence. Others reportedly escaped into surrounding bushes.
Quantities of substances suspected to be cannabis and other illicit drugs were recovered, alongside six motorcycles.
In Bauchi State, detectives rescued a 16-year-old male victim who had been abducted and arrested a suspect in connection with the incident. The victim was taken to hospital for medical examination.
In the Federal Capital Territory, police arrested a suspect following a reported violent assault in Durumi. The suspect is being investigated for alleged culpable homicide.
Ogun State recorded two separate police operations. In Ogere-Remo, police officers recovered a locally fabricated pistol discovered in a bush and secured it as an exhibit, while efforts continued to apprehend suspects allegedly linked to the incident.
In another operation at Sango-Ota, police responded to a reported cult-related murder and commenced investigation.
In Taraba State, police acting on intelligence arrested a suspect allegedly found in possession of a locally made single-barrel gun. The firearm was recovered as an exhibit.

The police in Jigawa State, also responded to an attack involving a Special Constabulary personnel and his wife. The intervention forced the attackers to flee, while the two injured victims were evacuated to General Hospital, Jahun for treatment. Twenty arrows were recovered from the scene.
In Bayelsa State, police officers responded to an armed robbery incident in Agbura Community, Yenagoa. An injured victim was rescued and taken to hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, police tactical teams in Zamfara State responded to a bandit attack along the Gusau-Funtua Federal Highway.
Four people who sustained gunshot injuries were evacuated to the General Hospital Tsafe, while joint security teams continued operations aimed at rescuing abducted victims and apprehending the attackers.
The police spokesman said the various cases remain under investigation by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments (SCIDs) in Asaba, Ikeja, Lokoja, Awka, Bauchi, Abuja, Abeokuta, Jalingo, Dutse, Yenagoa and Gusau.
