The Delta State Police Command has arrested one suspect and launched a manhunt for two others allegedly linked to the death of Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a Deputy Director in the state Ministry of Secondary Education.
Adeda reportedly died following an incident at the office of the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Kingsley Ashibogwu, in Asaba.

Police Arrest One Suspect, Search for Two Others
The police said on Friday that they arrested one of the suspects, identified as Lucky Adoh, after receiving complaints over the incident.
The Command said it was also searching for Enos Attah and Oputa Okestine, who allegedly fled after the incident.
According to the police, allegations before the Command indicate that Adeda was physically assaulted by aides to the commissioner. The claims remain subject to investigation.
Homicide Section to Lead Investigation
Delta State Commissioner of Police Samuel Erale has directed the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and Adeda’s subsequent death.
The police said investigators would examine available video footage, eyewitness accounts, medical records and the actions of all individuals connected with the incident.
“The investigation will examine all available evidence, including available video footages, eyewitness accounts, medical records, and the actions of all persons connected with the incident, to establish the facts and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice in accordance with the law,” the Command said.
Police Promise Accountability
The Command said it would not shield anyone found culpable, regardless of their position or status.
Eralе assured Adeda’s family and members of the public that the investigation would be conducted without fear or favour. The police also expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and said further updates would be released as the investigation progresses.
The arrest and manhunt are investigative steps; the suspects have not been convicted of an offence.
