The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to its personnel, describing them as the force’s “greatest assets.” This statement was made on May 8, 2025, during the commissioning of five major infrastructure projects at the 107 Air Maritime Group in Benin City, Edo State.
Among the newly commissioned facilities are mini armouries, a modern aircraft hangar office, newly built living quarters, and a state-of-the-art gymnasium — all designed to enhance the welfare, safety, and performance of airmen stationed at the base.
“These facilities represent more than just structures, they symbolise our unwavering commitment to those who serve,” said Air Marshal Abubakar, who noted the remarkable transformation the base has undergone since his first visit. He emphasized that such investments are crucial to building a highly motivated, mission-ready force capable of delivering air power whenever and wherever needed.

“With modern facilities and renewed motivation, the future of air power in Nigeria is secured in the hands of our dedicated airmen,” the Air Chief added.
This commissioning event signals a significant leap in NAF’s ongoing modernization drive and sends a strong message about prioritizing human capital development within Nigeria’s defense architecture.
