Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo–Agege, has appeared before the screening committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as part of the party’s process for Senate aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Omo-Agege disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, after the screening exercise held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel.

According to him, the screening process was “thorough and well-organized” and conducted in accordance with the 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022 as amended, and the APC’s internal guidelines.

“I thank the screening committee for its professionalism and dedication. I also appreciate the leadership and members of the APC for their steadfast support and prayers,” he stated.

The former Delta Central senator said he remains confident in his record of public service and pledged continued support for the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

He also pledged to work in partnership with Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the next election cycle.

Omo-Agege said he was optimistic about the outcome of the screening and vowed to work for the victory of the APC in Delta Central Senatorial District and across Delta State during the 2027 elections.

“Our mission is clear: to give the people of Delta Central representation that is accessible, responsive, and dedicated to real development,” he added.

Omo-Agege represented Delta Central in the Senate and served as deputy Senate president during the 9th National Assembly before contesting the 2023 Delta State governorship election under the APC platform.
