The Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NACAT) has vowed to expose corrupt practices and hold leaders accountable, aligning its mission with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Speaking at a press briefing in Uyo on Sunday, marking the official inauguration of NACAT’s South-South office, the regional coordinator, Michael Ukanga Ekpo, emphasized the organization’s commitment to tackling corruption head-on.
Ekpo dismissed social media claims that NACAT was out to witch-hunt political figures, particularly former Governor Udom Emmanuel, stating that the group operates with integrity and does not engage in politically motivated attacks. He stressed that corruption has eaten deep into Nigeria’s fabric, contributing to failing institutions, a broken healthcare system, youth unemployment, and poor governance.
He outlined NACAT’s core values, which include integrity, justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, innovation, and creativity, adding that the organization will actively collaborate with agencies like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to ensure transparency and accountability in governance.

“This is a fight against corruption for a better Nigeria,” Ekpo declared. “Our leaders must understand that they were elected to serve the people, not themselves, their families, or political cabals. NACAT is committed to taking down corruption, which remains Nigeria’s greatest obstacle to progress.”
He called on Nigerians to unite against corruption, urging citizens to take responsibility for the country’s future. “We have a common enemy—corruption. It is the reason behind our failed educational system, collapsing healthcare, and rising youth unemployment. The time has come for Nigerians to take their destinies into their own hands.”
With its South-South office now operational, NACAT said it’s now set to intensify efforts to expose corrupt activities and demand accountability from public officials, making it clear that no one is above scrutiny in the fight for a corruption-free Nigeria.
