Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has mourned veteran actor, Olu Jacobs following his death at the age of 84, describing him as a legend whose presence and guidance left a lasting impact on her career.
The actress paid an emotional tribute to the late screen icon, whom she fondly referred to as “Uncle Olu,” while reflecting on their memorable moments together on movie sets.
Mercy Johnson recalled the laughter, joy and numerous corrections they shared while working together, describing those experiences as precious memories that will remain with her.
She said Jacobs was more than just a veteran actor to her, noting that his presence, guidance and influence became an important part of her journey in the Nigerian film industry.
The actress also extended her condolences to Jacobs’ wife, fellow actress Joke Silva, and the entire family, praying for God’s comfort and strength during the difficult period.

“Those moments will forever hold a special place in my heart.
“You were more than just veteran, you are a legend and you were someone whose presence, guidance, and impact became part of my journey.
“Looking back now, I realise how precious those moments were.
“You will be deeply missed, Uncle Olu, but your memories and the lives you touched will continue to speak for you.
“My heartfelt condolences to Mummy Joke Silva and the entire family. May God comfort you, strengthen you, and grant you peace during this difficult time.
“Rest peacefully, legend.”
