Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointment of Prof. Demo Job Kalla as the vice chancellor of the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology and Climate Action, Gembu.

Before his new appointment, he served as director of the TETFund Centre of Excellence on Dairy Research and Development at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
His experience at the centre provided him with exposure to research coordination, academic development and the management of projects focused on agricultural and dairy research.
As vice chancellor, Prof. Kalla is expected to deploy his academic and administrative experience toward building the capacity of the Gembu-based institution and strengthening its role in research, innovation and human capital development.
The university’s specialised mandate places emphasis on tropical agriculture, science, technology and climate action, areas considered critical to sustainable development and the future of communities affected by changing environmental and climatic conditions.
