The Nigerian side endured a cautious opening period as both teams struggled to convert their early opportunities, but the Flamingos gradually took control after the cooling break.
Their persistence paid off in the 33rd minute when Oluwakemi Adegbuyi produced a fine finish to put Nigeria ahead.
The Flamingos extended their advantage just before half-time, with captain Harmony Chidi finding the net in stoppage time to send Nigeria into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Red Card Fails To Derail Nigeria
Ghana were handed a major boost shortly after the restart when Nigeria defender Elizabeth Adesuyi was shown a straight red card in the 59th minute following a foul on a Ghanaian attacker.
The Black Princesses quickly took advantage of their numerical superiority, as captain Seidatu Wahab converted the resulting free-kick directly to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
However, playing with 10 players did little to derail Nigeria’s momentum.
Mary Dunstan restored the Flamingos’ two-goal advantage in the 70th minute after beating her marker and rounding the goalkeeper before calmly finishing.

Nigeria thought they had added another goal through Chidi, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
The Flamingos continued to create opportunities and eventually put the result beyond Ghana in the 87th minute, when Kaosarat Akanji struck a superb free-kick to make it 4-1.
Ghana managed to reduce the deficit again in the 90th minute through Gloria Ameaa, but Nigeria held firm during the closing moments to secure a 4-2 victory.
