In addition to performance-based rewards, all 48 participating nations received guaranteed financial support from FIFA.
Each national football federation was paid $12.5 million, comprising $10 million for qualifying and participating in the group stage and an additional $2.5 million to cover pre-tournament preparation and training expenses.
FIFA introduced the preparation grant to help minimise disputes between players and national associations over bonus payments before the competition.
Teams also earned additional prize money based on their progress in the tournament.

Group-stage teams: $10 million each
Beyond prize money, FIFA covered business-class return flights, accommodation and meals for a 50-member delegation from each participating nation, from five days before their opening match until one day after elimination.
The governing body also paid for domestic transportation throughout the tournament, including official vehicles and equipment transport.
However, national football federations remain responsible for insurance for players and officials, incidental hotel expenses and accommodation costs for delegation members exceeding the 50-person allocation.
FIFA clarified that all World Cup prize money is paid directly to national football federations, leaving each association to determine how the funds are distributed among players and officials in accordance with its internal agreements and policies.
