The federal government has begun applications for Credit Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) Programme, an initiative that enables eligible Nigerians to acquire laptops, smartphones and tablets through a consumer credit facility.
The programme is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
It is designed to expand access to digital devices while promoting the use of locally assembled technology products.
As applications open for the pilot phase, prospective beneficiaries must satisfy the following requirements:
1. Provide Your State of Residence
Applicants are required to indicate where they currently reside by selecting any of Nigeria’s 36 states or the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The information will be used for programme administration, verification and beneficiary profiling.
2. Submit Employment Information
Applicants must disclose their employment status by selecting the category that best describes them. Available options include salary earners, freelancers, self-employed individuals, business owners, students, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and job seekers.

Although not compulsory, applicants may also provide details of their monthly income.
3. Be Enrolled in an Approved Digital Skills Programme
At this stage, the programme is available only to participants of the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative.
However, the application portal also references other digital learning platforms—including ALX, AltSchool Africa, HNG Internship, Andela Learning Community, Learn2Earn, and Genesys Tech Hub—suggesting that beneficiaries from these programmes could be considered in future phases.
4. Select a Preferred Device and Its Intended Purpose
Applicants must choose the digital device they intend to obtain, whether a smartphone, laptop or tablet.
They are also required to specify how the device will be used. Available purposes include education, professional certification, software development, remote work, freelancing, business growth, content creation and other learning-related activities.
5. Approve Verification of Personal Information
As part of the application process, applicants must certify that the information they submitted is accurate and complete.
They are also expected to give consent for CREDICORP and its partner organisations to verify the information provided before determining eligibility for the scheme.
6. State How You Learned About the Programme
Applicants are required to indicate the source through which they became aware of the initiative.
Available options include the 3MTT programme, social media platforms, Google search, employers, educational institutions, family or friends, and other channels.
The C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme forms part of the Federal Government’s broader effort to expand digital inclusion, improve access to technology and support skills development by making essential digital devices more affordable through structured consumer credit.
