Businessman and political commentator, Isaac Fayose has claimed that five governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are secretly backing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fayose made the allegation in a video shared on his Instagram page, claiming that the unnamed governors have agreed to financially support the NDC’s electoral operations in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Key Highlights:
Isaac Fayose alleged that five APC governors are secretly supporting the NDC.
He claimed they would financially support election activities in Rivers State and the FCT.
Fayose alleged a payment of ₦200,000 per polling agent.
He did not name the governors or provide verifiable evidence.
The claims have not been independently confirmed
According to him, the alleged support is aimed at preventing the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, from helping the APC secure the two areas during the 2027 elections.
Fayose said the governors would not openly campaign for the NDC or publicly make statements in support of the opposition party because they remain members of the APC.
He said, “We now have five APC governors supporting NDC in this election. They’re not going to come out to campaign for us.
“They’re not going to say anything in public that will favour us. But underneath, they promised to sponsor this election.”
Fayose further claimed that the governors’ major condition was that Wike should not deliver Rivers State and the FCT to the APC.
He alleged that the governors were also concerned about the conduct of the 2027 elections, claiming they believe there would be attempts to manipulate polling results.
According to Fayose, the unnamed governors had allegedly offered to provide ₦200,000 for each polling agent in Rivers State and the FCT.
“So they are offering all our polling agents in Rivers State and FCT ₦200,000 per polling unit. If you can stand together against rigging, they are willing to give you ₦200,000 each,” he claimed.

Fayose said the identities of the five governors were being kept secret because they were still APC members.
He also claimed that he told the governors that he doesn’t want President Bola Tinubu to return to office, while they allegedly told him that their immediate concern is stopping Wike from delivering Rivers State and the FCT to the APC.
The businessman did not name the five governors or provide publicly verifiable evidence of the alleged meeting or financial arrangement.
The claims about the governors’ identities, alleged funding and proposed ₦200,000 payment have not been independently verified, and no confirmation from the unnamed governors was cited in Fayose’s remarks.
The allegation comes as political parties and major political figures intensify preparations and realignments ahead of the 2027 election.
