The committee member also commended the Chairman of Gombe Local Government Area, Prof. Abdullahi Garkuwa, for his commitment and support towards providing the necessary assistance for the development and maintenance of the cemetery.

According to him, a cemetery serves as the final resting place for every human being, regardless of social status, position or financial standing, emphasising that everyone would eventually depend on such facilities.

He therefore urged members of the public, corporate organisations and philanthropists to contribute their quota towards sustaining the cemetery for the benefit of present and future generations.

Dr. Ardo further noted that proper maintenance of cemeteries would not only promote environmental cleanliness but also ensure that burial activities are carried out in a dignified, organised and respectful manner.
