The cold war between Edo State Government and the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has taken a new dimension as the former has stated that it has no plans to demolish the Secretariat of the Council.
Reacting to the council leader’s revelation that it has all the needed documents to prove its ownership, the state Commissioner for Communication and Orientation denied that the government is interested in demolishing the property.

“Edo State Government has no intention to demolish the NUJ Secretariat. No intention whatsoever. We enjoy our relationship with the council and we have no intention to do anything that will jeopardise that,” the Commissioner, who was accompanied to the meeting held in the Secretariat’s Conference Room by the Special Adviser to the Government on Media Projects, Pastor Crusoe Osagie. echoed.
However, inquiry by media practitioners to know government’s plan to acquire the expanse of land was not given a response.
