A frontline Atiku Support Group, the South East Atikulated Vanguard, SEAV, has frowned seriously at the lingering crisis rocking the Imo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and called on warring factions to sheath their sword in the interest of the party.
Imo State Coordinator of SEAV, Chief Stanley Obioha gave the advice in Owerri while speaking to newsmen after a meeting of his group and advised that the PDP leadership should focus attention on the forthcoming general elections to see that the party wins and return to power come 2023.
He described the ongoing face-off between the groups loyal to the national secretary of PDP, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Sam Daddy) and the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, as most unfortunate and unnecessary now that the party is few months away from elections against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
Obioha lamented that the crisis which started like child’s play is degenerating by the day and seriously threatening the party’s chances of PDP winning the coming polls in Imo.
Obioha, therefore, advised PDP leaders and members to embrace peace to be able to form a formidable force against the APC and ensure that the party sweeps the polls for the House of Assembly, House of Reps, Senate and presidential elections.
He however warned members of the PDP fanning the embers of discord within the party to desist forthwith to eschew further escalation stressing that internal crisis is not the best option for a party in opposition seeking to regain power.

The coordinator hinted that SEAV has been strategizing on the best possible way to reach out to the grassroots and mobilize the rural electorate ahead of the next year’s elections.
“The Imo State Chapter of South East Atikulated Vanguard, SEAV, is working tirelessly in ensuring that our support group grassroots-based campaign strides make PDP remain unbeatable come 2023,” he said.
He urged the Engr. Charles Ugwu-led State Working Committee, SWC, and other levels of leadership in the party to constantly liaise with the various Support Groups with the view to ensuring synergy and effective collaboration in the task of restoring PDP to power at the national and state levels.
