The Delta State Governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Sir Engr Dr Goodnews Agbi, today, unveils his campaign blueprint for the development of Delta State, come 2023 general election.
Agbi unveils the document in Asaba, the Delta State capital, during the inauguration of the Party’s Campaign Council held at Toscana Hotel.
Delivering his speech, Dr Agbi promised to restore and reposition the State towards greatness where all citizens would maximize their potential, enjoy the dividends of democracy and live in peace, justice and unity.
He said that his campaign manifesto is anchored on four cardinal points. They are health, education, security and infrastructure which cover everything that the common man needs in life.
In his words: “We are here to challenge the status quo. We are in the election to challenge the All Progressive Congress and the People’s Democratic Party. The only challenge we have is that our pocket is not as fat as theirs.”
“They know we are doing something great, they already panicking with the current trends from us and we will not relent until we take over Delta State from the present occupant.”
“In our campaign manifesto, we have four cardinal points which are; HEALTH, EDUCATION, SECURITY and INFRASTRUCTURE. These four shall form the fulcrum, the foundation on which our government shall be based. A blueprint has been developed and will soon be distributed across the State.
“Health is so important to the common man. In health every pregnant woman from six months to when the baby is 5 years, our government will take care of the medical care this includes all nursing mothers who will be given free healthcare as well as the establishment of more cottage hospitals across the state.
“Education will be made accessible to all qualified Deltans especially the children of the poor so that they can equally compete with others in other States in Nigeria. We will improve our education system by standardizing our schools and institutions. We will also encourage private universities to be established in the State as well, while we will academically strengthen the existing Institutions.

“Security will be given serious attention because of its sensitive nature and importance. We would improve on its present state by ensuring that Delta State has a security outfit that will be upgraded from civilian to police standard in the State and advocate and join other governors to seek approval for State police.”
“We would also improve on existing infrastructures. For the first year, the existing roads will be maintained continuously throughout my regime. There will be an embargo on new roads, he said.
Dr Agbi, therefore, encouraged Party faithful to vigorously campaign for the party across the State now that the inauguration has successfully taken place. He also enjoined members to allow other small political parties to join NNPP.
The governorship candidate equally appealed to Deltans to vote for only integrity and accountability rather than gangsters.
“I am appealing to Deltans to massively vote for me. I will lead them to Eldorado, they should shun all gangster candidates, especially those who stole the maze in the National Assembly should not be given room to govern Delta State.”
In his acceptance speech, the State Secretary of the Party, Olorogun Ofomana Edward, who was inaugurated as Director General of the State Campaign Council, expressed the readiness of the party to take over government in 2023.
He also tasked Party members to go out and canvass supports for all candidates of our great party, NNPP, who are vying for elective positions across the State and at the Federal level.
