Ebonyi community begs Umahi to give Staff of Office to Monarch

The leaders of the various group in Ogboji community in Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state, at the weekend, called on Governor David Umahi to give a staff of Office, certificate to its newly coronated Monarch, HRH. Chinedu Nwankwo, Eze Chima 11 of Ogboji kingdom.

It was gathered that the Eze, HRH. Chinedu Nwankwo was recently coronated by the council of Chiefs of Ogboji kingdom, following his numerous contributions to the development of the area.

The leaders of the community who spoke through, Mr Onwe Ikechukwu, the President General of the community, said the traditional ruler, Eze Chinedu Nwankwo, has impacted positively on the lives of the people, especially in sending some youths abroad.

“We thank the governor for what he is doing for the people in the state. We appreciate him (Umahi) for striving to ensure that there is peace and order in all parts of the state.

“We are pleading with the governor, David Umahi to give our newly coronated Eze, HRH. Chinedu Nwankwo, a staff of Office and certificate to enable him perform greatly to the people.

“Our Eze has sent many of our youths to other countries of the world, to learn business or other things. If the staff of Office and certificate is given to him (Nwankwo), he will have more courage with more authority to develop Ogboji community and assist our people greatly” he stated.

Another community leader, Charles Nworie, who also spoke to newsmen said: “Our Eze, HRH Chinedu Nwankwo, has done well for our community, and deserves to be given the staff of Office and certificate by the state governor to enable him perform more.

“Our community Ogboji has been supportive to all the Policies and programs of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi state, led by the governor David Umahi, and we ask that the governor should consider giving our Eze a staff of Office and certificate” he stressed.
