Bayern Munich defeated RB Leipzig 5-3 to win the German Super Cup with Sadio Mane getting his first goal at Red Bull Arena Stadium.
The African footballer of the year, who joined the Bavarians this summer, got his name on the scoresheet after Jamal Musial’s opener in the 14-minute.
Mane doubled the Germain giants’ lead in the 31-minute before Benjamin Pavard’s 45th-minute goal earned the Bavarians a first-half 3-nil.
Marcel Halstenberg responded 59th minute later for Leipzig to reduce the 3-0 deficit which did not last long before Serge Gnabry cancelled the effect to hand Bayern Munich a 4-1 scoreline.

Consequent to what looks almost like a comeback for the Leipzig after Christopher Nkunku and Dani Olmo reduced the deficit to one, Leroy Sane left it late to chatter the hope of Red Bulls as Bayern Munich won 5-3.
The Bundesliga champions have started the season on a goals-thumping streak despite losing their ace scorer Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in the summer.
However, Mane has proven to be reliable in delivering goals having found the back of the net during the preseason tour against DC United and responded again against Leipzig to justify his £35m move from Liverpool.
As Bayern travel to Deutsche Bank Park to play Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga opener on Friday, the former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane will be high-spirited to lead the attack against the last Europa League champions.
