The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the alleged killing of a 50-year-old man, Ibrahim Muhammad, in Kadarbu Village, Fufore Local Government Area of the state.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at about 9:00 p.m., when Muhammad was allegedly attacked and beaten to death at his settlement in Runde Koki, Kadarbu.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan.

According to the statement, the police command received a report from the Village Head of Kadarbu that Muhammad had been attacked by unidentified persons.

Police operatives were immediately deployed to the scene, where they documented the incident and evacuated the deceased’s remains to a hospital for autopsy.

Adamawa Police Arrest Three Suspects

The command said a swift investigation into the alleged killing led to the arrest of three suspects identified as Ibrahim Ahmadu, 30, Buba Bala, 22, and Yahaya Bala, 20.

According to the police, the suspects made confessional statements during interrogation and allegedly admitted to their involvement in the crime.

The command said the suspects allegedly carried out the act alongside two other individuals who have yet to be arrested.

Police said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and bring everyone connected with the incident to justice.

Case Transferred to SCID, Yola

Following the arrests, the Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, for a discreet and thorough investigation.

The police command said investigators would continue to establish the circumstances surrounding Muhammad’s death and determine the roles allegedly played by each of the suspects.

The command urged members of the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands and encouraged residents to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

The police assured residents of Adamawa State that it remained committed to protecting lives and property while ensuring that anyone found responsible for the alleged crime would face the law. More information on the force’s operations is available on the Nigeria Police Force website.
