Adamawa Police Arrest Two Suspected Gunrunners
The suspects, identified as 54-year-old Commander Barde of Zakawon Village in Guyuk Local Government Area and 51-year-old Abdullahi Musa of Ga’anda in Gombi Local Government Area, were arrested on September 30, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, operatives of the State Intelligence Department arrested the suspects at Cham in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The police said the suspects were apprehended while allegedly conducting an illegal firearms transaction.
Police Recover Locally Made Dane Gun
During the operation, the police recovered one locally fabricated Dane gun, which was taken into custody as an exhibit.
The Adamawa State Police Command said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly involved in illegal arms dealing. Police also said the suspects had confessed to participating in previous illegal firearms transactions.

Police Intensify Investigation
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Kabir Umar Hassan, commended the operatives for the intelligence-led operation.
He directed the police to intensify discreet investigations aimed at identifying, tracing and arresting other individuals allegedly connected to the illicit arms trade.
