According to SaharaReporters, a source familiar with the development disclosed on Saturday, October 24, that the investigating police officer took Jaruma to the hospital after she reportedly required medical attention.
Her reported hospitalisation comes amid her continued detention over social media posts linked to an alleged disagreement involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and a woman Jaruma described as one of his girlfriends.
The source, who visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), said she was informed that Jaruma was no longer at the facility because she had been taken to the hospital shortly before her arrival.
The development has raised concerns about her welfare and access to appropriate medical care while in detention.
Controversy Over Bail Conditions
Jaruma’s reported health concerns also come amid controversy over the administrative bail conditions imposed by the National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
Documents obtained by SaharaReporters indicated that the police required two sureties for her release: a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15 and a business owner with landed property in the Federal Capital Territory.
Other requirements reportedly included identification documents, National Identification Number slips, passport photographs and employment or business records.
Sources familiar with the matter alleged that the conditions had proved difficult to meet, raising concerns about the process of securing her release.
Charges Under Cybercrimes Act
A two-count charge sheet dated October 23, 2026, also indicated that criminal proceedings had been initiated against Jaruma under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, as amended in 2024.
The allegations concern her purported use of TikTok to transmit abusive messages, false allegations and videos relating to Rayan Ghassan Kamal, identified as Seyi Tinubu’s personal assistant.
