The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in collaboration with vigilant members of the community, has arrested five suspected armed robbers in Wuro-Hausa, Adamawa State.
The suspects were apprehended at about 3:00 a.m. following actionable intelligence received by security personnel and the prompt intervention of the Corps and community members.
According to the NSCDC, dangerous weapons suspected to have been intended for criminal activities were recovered from the suspects during the operation.
The arrest, the corps said, underscores the importance of community participation and timely information sharing in preventing and detecting criminal activities.
The Adamawa State Command commended members of the community whose cooperation contributed to the successful operation.
The command also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities to security agencies.
Speaking on the development, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, Nyako Baba, said the suspects were currently in the custody of the corps for preliminary investigation.
Baba said the suspects would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution in accordance with extant laws.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC Adamawa State Command to protecting lives and property and maintaining public safety across the state.

He added that the corps would continue to work closely with communities and other security agencies to prevent and combat criminal activities.
The command further called on residents to support security agencies with credible information that could assist in preventing crimes and apprehending criminal elements.
The NSCDC stressed that cooperation between security agencies and members of the public remains critical to maintaining peace and security in Adamawa state.
The command also reiterated that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
