Barcelona have officially secured the services of Germany international Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, completing a transfer reportedly valued at €29 million, including performance-based bonuses.
The reigning La Liga champions announced on Thursday that the 24-year-old attacker has signed a five-year contract, tying him to the Catalan club until June 30, 2031.
Adeyemi becomes Barcelona’s second high-profile acquisition of the summer, following the earlier arrival of England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
Known for his pace and versatility, the German forward is capable of operating as a central striker or on either flank, providing manager Hansi Flick with additional attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
His arrival comes after Barcelona parted ways with veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, while Marcus Rashford also left the club following the conclusion of his loan spell from Manchester United.
The Spanish giants are still active in the transfer market, with Atletico Madrid forward Julián Álvarez reportedly remaining one of the club’s leading targets as they continue to strengthen their squad.

Adeyemi is no stranger to Flick, having made his senior debut for the German national team under the coach in 2021.
The forward moved to Borussia Dortmund from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and enjoyed a productive spell in the Bundesliga, scoring 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions.
Barcelona believe Adeyemi’s speed, attacking flexibility and finishing ability will enhance their frontline as they aim to retain the La Liga title and challenge strongly in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
