Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has rejected the club’s offer of a new contract, fueling speculation over his future amid growing interest from several Premier League heavyweights.
The 22-year-old England Under-21 international remains a top target for clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Chelsea, with Bournemouth yet to reach an agreement on improved terms.
The Cherries had made extending Scott’s stay one of their key priorities this summer, but negotiations have stalled. Scott still has two years remaining on the contract he signed after joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in a £25 million move in 2023.
Arsenal had previously seen an approach for the midfielder rejected earlier in the transfer window, but the latest contract setback is expected to intensify interest in one of England’s most promising young midfielders.
Scott earned his first senior England call-up last November and was later included in Thomas Tuchel’s extended pre-World Cup training camp in Florida, although he is still awaiting his senior debut.
His situation comes during a busy transfer window for Premier League midfielders. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is closing in on a move to Manchester City, while Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is set to join Chelsea.

Tottenham have also strengthened their midfield with the signings of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United.
Before moving to Bournemouth, Scott made 91 appearances for Bristol City after joining from Guernsey FC in 2020.
He was named the Championship’s Young Player of the Season in the 2022/23 campaign before earning his switch to the Premier League.
Since arriving at Bournemouth, Scott has featured in 89 matches, scoring six goals, and played a key role in helping the club finish sixth in the 2025/26 Premier League season to secure Europa League qualification for the first time in their history.
