Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed deep shock over a tragic auto crash in the state that claimed the lives of several National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and a serving military officer.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Gov. Fintiri described the incident as painful, heartbreaking, and a devastating loss to both the state and the nation.
He noted that the victims were patriotic Nigerians who died, while in active service to their fatherland.
The governor extended his condolences to the bereaved families, the NYSC, and the government and people of Kaduna State, from where some of the corps members reportedly originated.
“On behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, the NYSC, and the government and people of Kaduna State,” he said.
Gov. Fintiri paid tribute to the victims, describing them as committed young Nigerians and a gallant officer of the armed forces who paid the ultimate price in national service.
“These young men and women, alongside a gallant officer of our armed forces, paid the ultimate price while serving their fatherland. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Adamawa grieves with you,” he stated.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and asked God to comfort their families, friends, the NYSC community, and the Kaduna State government during this period of mourning.
The governor further directed relevant government agencies to work closely with the NYSC and military authorities to ensure that necessary support is extended to the families of the deceased.
“At this difficult moment, we stand with everyone affected. May the Almighty comfort the grieving and heal the wounded,” he added.
The tragic, as observed by our correspondent, has plunged communities across Adamawa and Kaduna States, as well as the wider NYSC family, into mourning, with tributes continuing to pour in for the victims.
