Businessman and politician, Dauda Gyeta Kali on Friday picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination forn to contest for the Mubi North State Constituency seat in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Kali, who previously vied for the position during the 2023 electoral cycle under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is making a fresh attempt under the APC platform following a disputed primary contest within his former party.
During the PDP primaries, Kali was narrowly defeated by his rival, in what his supporters described as a fiercely contested exercise marred by controversy.

His camp has continued to maintain that the outcome did not reflect the genuine will of party members, alleging irregularities despite what they insist was widespread grassroots support.
Speaking after picking up the APC nomination form, Kali thanked his supporters for their unwavering loyalty and encouraged them to remain committed as preparations intensify ahead of the next elections.
He pledged to deliver effective and people-oriented leadership if elected, promising job creation, improved road networks, quality education, and enhanced healthcare services as part of his development agenda.
Kali also warned constituents against vote-buying and political inducement, stressing that temporary financial gains could result in long-term setbacks for the entire community.
His renewed ambition, now under a different political platform, is expected to reshape the dynamics of the Mubi South race, drawing heightened attention from political stakeholders across Adamawa State.
Observers say the contest could be highly competitive, given the history surrounding the previous primaries and the evolving political alignments in the constituency.
As political activities gather pace, residents of Mubi South are bracing for what is likely to be an intense and closely watched electoral battle.
