The people of Ozoro and Otor-Owhe Kingdoms in Isoko North Local Government Area have unanimously endorsed Blessing Oghale Obomovo, a prominent builder and Chief Executive Officer of Standout Properties Limited, as their sole candidate for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement, which cut across political, traditional, and community lines, was reached during a large gathering at Opute Hall in Ozoro. Political leaders, traditional authorities, women groups, and youth representatives converged in a show of unity to receive the aspirant and declare their collective position.
Obomovo, an aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, traces his roots to Otor-Owhe Kingdom through his father and Ozoro Kingdom through his mother. His candidacy is for the Isoko North and South Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The endorsement gained further weight as all five blocs of Ozoro, Uroto, Erovie, Etevie, Urude, and Orumudhe, jointly adopted him as their preferred candidate. Erovie, identified as his maternal home, played a central role in the process, underscoring his long-standing ties to the community.
Community leaders commended Obomovo for stepping forward to contest the seat and assured him of full political backing. He was described as a consensus choice ahead of other aspirants, including the incumbent lawmaker, Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko.
The endorsement was formalised through a motion moved by Friday Arah and seconded by Sir Raphael Oro Afemari, before being put to a voice vote by Chief Solomon Akeni, drawing a resounding approval from the gathering.
Stakeholders present described the moment as a turning point for Ozoro Kingdom, reflecting a unified resolve to present a credible candidate to represent the Isoko nation at the National Assembly.
President-General of the Ozoro Progressive Union, Berkley Asiafa, said the kingdom had spoken with one voice and would mobilise its full political strength to secure victory at the polls. He added that the endorsement represents a firm commitment to translate collective aspiration into electoral success.
Traditional institutions also lent their support, including palace representatives, the Odiologbo of Erovie, Odio Tobi, and the Oletu-logbo of Ozoro Kingdom, Oletu Egbamuno. Women and youth groups, led by Comfort Ikrege and Marvis Ogbu respectively, pledged to drive grassroots mobilisation across communities.

Speaking at the event, Obomovo expressed gratitude to the people and leadership of Ozoro Kingdom, describing the endorsement as both an honour and a call to service. He pledged to deliver fair and inclusive representation while upholding the values and traditions of the land.
He described the gathering as more than a reception, noting that it reflected a united declaration from his maternal home. According to him, the support from community leaders and institutions reinforces his commitment to the people.
A similar endorsement took place in Otor-Owhe Kingdom, his paternal home, where community leaders and elders rallied behind his ambition. The kingdom, led by its leadership structure, described his candidacy as timely and aligned with the aspirations of the people.
The endorsement was accompanied by prayers and expressions of confidence in his leadership capacity. Obomovo, in response, thanked the people of Otor-Owhe for their support, describing it as motivating and reassuring.
He assured both communities that their trust would not be taken lightly and promised inclusive representation when elected.
The event drew the presence of key stakeholders, including representatives of the palace of Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo, leaders of the Ozoro Progressive Union, former community heads, and prominent women and youth leaders.
The development signals early political alignment within the Isoko Federal Constituency as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.
