The terrorists reportedly stormed the community on Monday, shooting at residents and setting several houses on fire during the assault.
A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, said 11 bodies have been recovered, while several other residents remained missing.
He said search teams and security personnel have moved into nearby forests in an effort to locate those unaccounted for.

Another resident said his wife and two other members of his family were among those killed in the attack.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Adamawa State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, did not respond to repeated calls.
