The army has addressed concerns following the arrest of blogger and social media influencer Justice Mark Chidiebere, known as Justice Crack.
In a statement issued on May 2, 2026, by the acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anel, the army noted that it had received complaints from some soldiers, regarding issues related to their feeding and welfare, which Chidiebere shared online.
The statement said the situation is currently under investigation for a potential violation of the Armed Forces’ Social Media Policy and for spreading misinformation.
It explained that initial findings suggest that the soldiers had discussions with Chidiebere on various topics, with the army alleging that some of the exchanges indicated attempts to stir discontent among personnel, including discussions that could be considered subversive.
