“My brother, my friend, the workaholic Minister, you have made a remarkable difference in infrastructure development across Nigeria. Thousands of kilometres of roads are under construction nationwide. This level of transformation has never been witnessed before. You are truly the signature performer of President Tinubu’s administration,” he said.
Yilwatda also noted that Umahi, the first Minister of Works from the South East under President Tinubu, has justified the confidence reposed in him through his performance.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State also commended the Minister, describing him as one of the administration’s outstanding performers.
“The star performer of this administration, our elder brother and friend, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, has continued to demonstrate exceptional commitment to national development. We are delighted to welcome him to Plateau State,” the governor said.
Speaking on the Babban Lamba–Sharam (Phase II) Road project, Mutfwang said the initiative would stimulate economic growth, improve connectivity and create new opportunities for communities across the area.
“This project is more than a road. It is a gateway to economic opportunities, improved transportation and greater prosperity for our people,” he stated.
The governor also thanked President Tinubu for approving the rehabilitation project and reaffirmed Plateau State’s support for the administration.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze.
Former Plateau State Governor and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, also applauded President Tinubu for introducing concrete pavement technology on major federal highways.
Lalong praised Umahi for spearheading the administration’s road infrastructure programme, describing him as “Mr. Magic” for delivering major projects across the country.
According to him, the recently flagged-off Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri Superhighway and the Babban Lamba–Sharam Road project demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure nationwide.
