Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is reportedly being considered to perform at the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, as organisers look to deliver a landmark entertainment spectacle.
According to reporters, Bieber is in discussions to join a star-studded lineup that already includes Madonna, Shakira, and South Korean music group BTS for the final scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium, officially referred to as New York New Jersey Stadium during the tournament.
If the deal is finalised, it would mark another major World Cup appearance for the singer, who attended the tournament’s opening ceremony in Inglewood, California, with his wife, Hailey Bieber. He also treated invited guests to a surprise intimate performance during the event.
The report has fuelled speculation about Bieber’s return to regular live performances. In recent months, the Grammy-winning artist has made several surprise appearances, including a stripped-down performance at the Grammy Awards and guest sets during the Coachella festival.

Despite rumours of a global tour, TMZ reported that Bieber currently prefers making select live appearances instead of embarking on a full-scale world tour.
A halftime performance at the World Cup final would fit that strategy while placing him on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is expected to feature the tournament’s first-ever official halftime show, with organisers aiming to create a spectacle similar to those seen at other major global sporting events.
Neither FIFA nor Bieber’s representatives have officially confirmed the report, and discussions over his potential appearance remain ongoing.
