Personal Aides to governor Udom have demanded the arrest and prosecution of the opponent to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP,) governorship aspirant during May 27 party primary election in Akwa Ibom Mr Akan Okon for lying against the party governorship candidate pastor Umo Eno who won the party ticket for next year’s general election.
Okon; after he lost the PDP governorship primary in the state approached the Federal High court in Uyo praying for nullification of the party primary to declare him the winner accusing Umo Eno of fake WAEC certificate, Voters card and false declaration of age.
Delivering judgement on the matter last Friday, Justice Aghatha Okeke dismissed the case for want of merit and awarded N15m cost against Akan Okon saying that the claims by the plaintiff were based on assumptions and speculation.
In a statement signed by the secretary College of Personal Aides to governor Udom Emmanuel Hon Essien Ndueso and made available to newsmen in Uyo on Sunday, the personal Aides demanded Udom to arrest and prosecute Okon for criminal defamation.
Ndueso stated that Akan Okon has drowned in the plot of his evil machinations and should be arrested for immediate prosecution to serve as a deterrent to other mischief makers in the state.
The statement reads in parts: “We the College of Personal Aides of the Governor, heartily congratulate the PDP Governorship Candidate, Pastor Umo Eno on his well-deserved victory at the Federal High Court. Although this was indiscretion foretold, this judicial victory of Pastor Umo Eno against thoroughly defeated Governorship aspirant, Mr Akan Okon, is a confirmation that no matter how attractive lies appear, truth will always prevail.
“Now that Mr Akan Okon has drowned in the flood of his miserable plot, he, and indeed all his conspirators have seen that man’s mischievous machinations are insignificant where God is involved. ”
He observed that it was not surprising that with the level of exposure Mr Akan Okon can still be susceptible to deceit and manipulation in the hands of his false prophets to the point of believing the fake prophets he paraded during the case would smuggle him into government house as governor.
“Now that Mr Akan Okon has drowned in the middle of the Red Sea, he needs no soothsayer to tell him there is always the end of those who persecute the children of God as he did to Pastor Umo Eno. ”
The College of Personal Aides to governor Emmanuel congratulated the governorship hopeful pastor Umo Eno on his victory in court over the forgery case adding that the victory was a signal of how he will win the 2023 governorship election in the state as a man of veracity and character.

“We thank God that the illusion of Mr Akan Okon further proves the integrity of Pastor Umo Eno who had staked his image on the alleged falsification of documents the defeated Governorship aspirant, Mr Akan Okon fabricated for his ill-fated ambition to become governor.
“We have never entertained any doubt regarding the tested integrity of Pastor Umo Eno over the years. However, now that Pastor Umo Eno’s WAEC certificate has been judiciary-confirmed by a court of competent jurisdiction, we urge Pastor Umo Eno to immediately institute a case of criminal defamation against the dreamer, Mr Akan Okon.”
He noted that the plaintiff in the forgery case Akan Okon is bereft of reputation as he does not know what it takes to build integrity and would not have conjured such fictitious allegations just to drag the name of PDP governorship candidate pastor Umo Eno in the mud.
He said the award of N15m cost to the plaintiff in the suit was a way to assuage the governorship hopeful and absolve him of the allegations by an opponent who was seeking an office disproportional to capacity despite his desperation.
“Mr Akan Okon should face the consequences of his unreasonable action, and be arraigned immediately for the criminal defamation of Pastor Umo, even if to serve as a deterrent for him before he shifts his vile and venom to another innocent victim.
“The college of aides of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel continues to commend our boss for the choice of Pastor Umo Eno in whom we have seen the capacity to keep the light of development and prosperity of Akwa Ibom lit by Mr Udom Emmanuel aglow,” he said.
